How to Cancel Cineworld (UK) — Tickets & Unlimited Membership
Thinking of cancelling a Cineworld Unlimited membership or getting a refund on tickets? Here’s the exact process, including cooling-off rules, minimum terms, notice periods, and how to cancel bookings via your account.
First—what are you trying to cancel?
Unlimited membership (monthly or annual) — recurring plan with a minimum term.
One-off tickets — booked for a specific screening; refunds are self-serve if you act in time.
2. Cineworld Unlimited — cooling-off & minimum term
Cooling-off (first 15 days): You can cancel within 15 days of sign-up. If you used the membership during that time, Cineworld may deduct the value of any visits from your refund. Cancel by contacting the Unlimited Team (form/email) or using Cineworld’s template cancellation form.
Minimum term (“Initial Period”):
Monthly plan: 3-month minimum.
Annual plan: 12-month minimum (paid upfront).
Don’t cancel your bank Direct Debit early. If you stop the DD before the official termination date, your card can be deactivated and you’ll lose the remainder of that paid month.
3. Ending Unlimited after the minimum term
Monthly plan (after the first 3 months): Give notice to the Unlimited Team.
If they receive your notice ≥14 days before your next payment date, membership ends the day before that payment.
If <14 days, one more payment is due and it ends one month later.
Annual plan: Where eligible to terminate (e.g., after an extension year or disadvantageous changes), give one month’s notice; Cineworld refunds any full remaining months after the termination date.
Legitimate grounds to end early: long-term medical inability (3 months+) or permanent move outside the UK/ROI. Provide evidence to the Unlimited Team; monthly plans end a month after the next DD following approval; annual plans get a pro-rata refund of full remaining months.
Auto-renewal / rolling: After your minimum term, memberships typically continue month-to-month unless you tell Cineworld not to renew.

4. Cancelling or refunding tickets
If you booked via a My Cineworld account, you can cancel for a refund up to 2 hours before the screening:
Log in → My Bookings → Cancel Booking (web)
or App → My Purchases → Request Refund.Refund goes back to the original payment method (booking fees are non-refundable).
No-shows aren’t auto-refunded. Cineworld doesn’t auto-cancel/refund unused tickets unless it cancels the performance.
If Cineworld cancels a show, they’ll contact you and arrange a refund or replacement (e.g., voucher for certain third-party vouchers).
5. Quick steps — Unlimited cancellation
Check your plan & term (monthly vs annual; confirm you’ve passed the minimum term).
Submit your notice to the Unlimited Team (contact form/email). Keep the written confirmation.
Time your notice with your payment date (14-day rule for monthly).
Only cancel your bank DD after the official termination date.
